Sermon Take Away: “God Is Good”

Psalm 145; Psalms 25:8; James 1:17

God is good! Nothing and no one will ever change who he is. Through our ups and down, our faith remains that God is Good. The book of Psalms are writing of the history, praises, and prayers from the people of God. The one consistent message in each of these writings is that God is good. He is unsearchable. He has the power and authority of all things. The quality of good is a fruit of the spirit. Being good is to be morally right. God’s goodness is pure, untouchable, and on a different level than man. His goodness is nothing not ours. For he is good all the time.

The bible reveals that God always have us under his wings. Only he is able to look beyond our sinful nature and grant us his compassion. He knows that we are prone to sin and that our behavior is unpredictable. In his goodness, he is gracious. He is full of unlimited grace. His love is unconditional. He gives us time to get ourselves right, to align with his morals and goodness.

God gives all the opportunity to become a better person in the gift of salvation. It is because of his compassion, that we are waken every morning with new mercies. He has not faults. His ways and thoughts are in precision. “Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.” It is his will that the sinner man seek for salvation to experience the love of God in the forgiveness of his sins. God alone is just and fair. He shows no inequality. But he is loving to all. The opposition that the saints deal with is always happening. But if you remain faithful, you will see God.

God’s goodness preserved the writings of the scribes and ancient writers to help in the creation of the inspired bible scriptures. The preserved writings tell of his mercies throughout generations of people. Rejoice that you can depend on him. In God, we will make it because he is good.

The world find faults with God, blaming him for all of the trouble in the world. They fail to realize that it is because God is good that he allows the adversary to cause trouble. He wants man see that there is a spirit of good and one of evil. He gives individuals the choice to choose. Keep an open heart for the help of Jesus. When we confess him as our Savior, he will take care of you. Because he is good. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” It is so good to no that God has no variableness. He does not do things randomly. We know what we will get when we trust in him.

Wait on the Lord and have faith to know that he has our best interest in heart. What a wonderful Psalm to tell about the goodness of our God.
