Sermon Take Away: “Nothing Between”

Gospel of Mark 2

Jesus Christ is our eternal hope today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. He is our blessed Savior, who gave his life for our sins. His death has freed us from the chains of evil and has paved the way for forgiveness, repentance and eternal life. Because he is omnipresence, he is always with us.  Everyday we must praise him and draw close to him. In doing so, there will be Nothing Between you and your Savior.

In the Gospels, there were many occasions where people needed to see Jesus. His teachings and the miracles that he did, kept crowds of people around him. A man who had palsy had to remove all barriers to get to him. He was supported by four who carried him on his stretcher. Within themselves, they had to believe that Christ could help them. The four companions who carried him, fondly called Cooperation, Original, Persistence, and Sympathy, agreed to break down the roof to the house. All barriers were removed.

We must remove barriers that keep us from believing that with Christ all things are possible. Barriers could be doubt, fear, people or anything that will hinder your faith. This man with the help of his companions removed the barriers that were between him and Jesus.  When he made his way, Jesus saw their faith. We want Jesus to see that we believe in him for all things and we will will not give up. All five worked together to get to Jesus.

These five companions reminds us of good qualities to pray for: cooperation with each other, original faith is the guide, sympathy compassion for others, and persistence don’t give up. As result of their faith, many witness the power of Christ. His work came into question. Sometimes that is a good thing because it keeps him the subject of conversation. At some point, by the grace of God, the doubters will be saved.

Our soul is the most important thing that we will offer to Christ. It is up to you not allow anything or anyone to come between you and your blessed Savior.
