Ephesians 4:5,6
What a pleasure it is to talk about the goodness of God! The more we talk about him, the more we realize our constant need for him. As faith deepens, we understand what is means to surrender all to him. When he sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, he gave us everything. We join in the fellowship with Christ when we completely give of ourselves.
There is only one divinity of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In him is unconditional love for us. His love inspires us to surrender to him. To surrender to God is all part of trusting in him for forgiveness, protection, guidance and so much more. To surrender all involves to:
Deny ourselves (Matthew 16:24-28) – Allow God to take control. If you depend on your own strength you will lose. Put him first to direct you. The soul of man is more important than what he will gain in life. God made a great sacrifice for us. We must sacrifice ourselves. John the Baptist (Matthew 3:1-4) denied himself of a family and a steady home, to introduce the coming Jesus Christ to bring salvation to the man.
Give your whole heart (Mark 12:30). The heart holds emotions of feelings. Put them aside to let the love of God do the work to change you. David was so stirred up for God, he sought to know and live in the ways of God. His whole heart was turn completely to him. Our perfection does not come on our own, only in Christ.
Obey God (Genesis 22) – Follow his commands to direct our lives. God commands but he gives us a choice. That is love. He wants us to obey willingly because we love him. Abraham obeyed the command to offer Isaac for a sacrifice. He did not question why. He demonstrated his faith in the will of God. In doing so, God had provided a ram for him to sacrifice, instead of his son.
Pray daily (Daniel 6) – Prayer is very essential to remain close to God. So many things can keep us disconnected from him. Daniel was faithful to his custom to pray 3 times a day. His sprit of surrender to the will of God delivered him from the slaughter of the lions and the glory of God was witnessed.
Stand up for Christ (Acts 17:1-4) When the opportunity come, speak for him. The mission is to persuade people to believe in Jesus for salvation. Apostle Paul took time to teach Jesus to the Jews. He knew his life was in danger, but he remained bold and faithful to teach those who had opposed Jesus, why they needed him. Many did believe.
