As we close out the calendar year 2024, thoughts and discussions are shared regarding individual accomplishments. While giving thought to the year's closing, it is good to remain thankful for God's endless mercies, which continue until this day. His greatness alone is enough to overshadow those outcomes that we were not satisfied with. He is not limited to our past and presence. But the joy of salvation is that he continues into our future. In taking note of your pros and the cons of the year, did you say thank you?
We serve a risen Savior, who knows all things concerning us. It is most beneficial to praise him for his love and goodness, which remains regardless of individual outcomes. “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” In spite of his failures, David never ceased to give praises. He acknowledged that everything belongs to God and he is above all things.
In giving God thanks, we remove space for the enemy. When we give thanks to God for all things, we acknowledge that he is our sustainer at all times, including when the outcome was not what we wanted. It was his mercy and strength that was with us and our faith remains.
When the ten lepers came to Christ, they cried for mercies. Jesus healed all ten, but only one came back to thank him. It was his faith that made him whole. He was healed of the leprosy and his soul was saved! When one does not thank God, his blessings are not taken from him. But he may miss out on the most important deliverance which is the saving of his soul.
As we go into 2025, keep trusting and believing in the love of God, our heavenly father and Jesus Christ, our Savior. He is not done with you yet. For his blessings are far greater than we may realize. Keep thanking God!
