Sermon Take Away: Give All Diligence

Scripture: II Peter 1:1-10

Daily, we live to get a closer walk with Jesus Christ. Study, prayer and praise are essential to remain steadfast in the faith. In addition, there are times to fast. Fasting is a dedicated time and way to let God know that we stand in need of him. Just as we take care of so many matters in our lives, we must give all diligence to align our character in Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Peter’s message to the early church is still relevant to the church today. Daily we must seek and trust the Lord to make us stronger in him. He offered some very essential and qualities to become stronger and better, as we enjoy our life in Christ.

Faith is the foundation of our belief. Faith is the substance of the things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. It is to believe that Jesus died so that our sins are forgiven. We don’t see it, but it is faith which enables us to believe that Jesus will do just as he said he would do. Virtue is to be good, holding on to high moral values. Your not habitual in doing wrong. Knowledge is obtain by education and by experience. The study of the bible tells us about the enduring love of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The bible explains why salvation is imperative for eternal life. Experiences are based on what one has been through, it is personal. Temperance is to be moderate in situations. Patience is to wait with self-restraint. Godliness is to reflect on the presence of God everyday. Brotherly kindness is to have concern for human beings. Charity is love, including the way in which humans relate to each other.

Never be satisfied with your present position with the Savior. Always want to be better in his presence. Jesus has done the greater part for us all, he died for us. Now, it is up to us to do our part to diligently work to get closer to him. Thank you Jesus.
